My Dad died 3 yrs ago. Mymom died this past August. I haven't worked since 08'. We're selling the house )me & 4 siblings. They all want money but I want the house. My Dad built this home, did all the landscaping himself,w/some help from my brothers. I walk out into the 1-3/4 acre yard and just breathe in clean air. Nobody has mowed the grass yet since winter. All the wild flowers are out, yellows, purples, blues, etc. My moms daffodills & azalea bushes are all blooming. All my siblings do more than just get buy. All they talk about is getting me and my son out. One of my sons died here, upstairs in the bedroom. His last gasp of air was right here, in the room I sleep in now. I know that sounds creepy to some people, but it comforts me.

my mother and father are losing the house and my dad really need to talk to someone becouse the bank is taken away the house my granparents lived in for 46 years and when they died they gave us the house but now they are taking it away and told us that we need to get out of the house in three weeks right before christmas....before they said we had tell feb. 15 but now its in three weeks and my dad is cring becuase he loved the house aqnd wants to keep it but the bank wont let us have more time.

I am a veteren (diferently abbled) raising a good size family over my head in the morgage bill. have a disabled son (mentallY) ex husband wanting to sell the family home my ww2 dad helped pay toward   I just wish I could through pray pay it off and owe only taxes every year and insurance.  I have to get a lawer and answer his plee to sell my family home.  I dont know where you are i need a friend .  See it is 2am i cant sleep worries you know.

Hi. I am new to this site. I just spoke to my mom, who informed me that she has until Monday August 25th to come up with almost $6,000 or she will lose her house. Her name is Tami and she lives in Bainbridge, OH, which is near Cleveland. She is unable to work right now and is in the process of getting SS disability. She has seven children from ranging from age 9 to 20. I am the oldest, and I moved down south last year because of health problems. I am not in a position to help her, and I can't find anyone who is. My siblings start school on Monday, but if they have to leave their house, I have no idea how they will attend. My 16 year old brother is actually paying the electric and phone bill at the moment. My stepfather is no longer in the picture, and so far is not assisting her in any way.

My mother is a very kind person- she is always doing things for others. Although her health issues haven't made it easy for her, she still cares for the children of family and friends whenever they need her to. Until a few weeks ago, she had custody of three more children whose mother was imprisoned. Their grandparents did not want all of the kids, only the youngest one, and my mom did not want to see them separated. So, she kept them for a few years until their mother proved to the court that she was responsible.

I don't know of any way to help my mom besides to ask for help from others. Please do what you can- send her your thoughts, your prayers, or if you are able to, please help her attain the money she needs. Thank you so much for reading this post...I hope that you will provide whatever you are able to my mom.

I am the mother of three amazing children, ages 6, 2, and 4 months.  We recently moved from the Pittburgh area to the Richmond, VA area.  We purchased our first home, which is incredibly modest and needs lots of work.  We knew the house was a fixer-upper when we looked at it, but according to the inspection we would be able to handle everything ourselves.  We are both pretty handy and my husband has an amazing knack for learning how to fix things, so we weren't worried.  We've been slowly chipping away at things that need fixed like insulating and minor plumbing and roof work.  Its a slow project because of finances.  Anyway, my brother-in-law was helping us with our yard work when we discovered a wet spot in the dirt that would not dry, where we had dumped some dirt into a weed filled hole.  Keep in mind, this was during a major drout.  We decided to dig the spot up to see what was causing it.  We discovered a world of trouble.  The wetness was sewage.  Initially we thought maybe we damaged a pipe connecting the septic tank to the distribution box, then we discovered there was no distribution box!  Further more, there was no drainfield!  We had a septic designer and inspector check our property and he confirmed what we had found, he also confirmed that because of the layout of our property and a right of way through it, there was no way of putting one on our property.  At this point we are amazed that we have sewage running from our septic tank, through a concrete pipe, into a ditch onto my neighbors vacant property.  This was originally all one family's property, and apparently that's when this set up was done. 

This leads me to the legal issue that has now been created.  When we agreed to purchase this house, we and the seller signed a purchase agreement.  That agreement stated that the seller had the septic tank inspected and pumped, the distribution box inspected and the drainfield inspected.  Now, we had a completely Full septic tank, no distribution box and no drainfield.  Obviously the seller commited some fraud here.  This fraud has put us in a situation where the county could condemn our house, and my family runs a serious risk of getting sick from having raw sewage in the back yard.  we have been pursuing this matter but have run out of options at the moment.  We need a lawyer to help us.  The realtor that sold it to us was also the owner.  We have made him aware of the situation and he keeps playing dumb.  I think he assumes that we are stupid first time home buyers and we aren't going to press the issue.  We have to though.  Because we can't put a drainfield on our property, we have to make a deal with the owner of the other property to have an easement to put it on.  Between that and the tens of thousands it will cost to have it designed and builtwe are in serious trouble!  I think the seller should lose his lisence and have to pay minimally to put the system in  because of his fraudulant behavior.  Legal help is the biggest thing we need right now.I haven't been able to find anyone who will take us on pro bono.  We can't afford to pay a lawyer because I just had to quit my job .  It was pointless for me to work when all I was doing was paying someone else to raise my kids and clearing little more than that. Now I can spend time with my children and our income isn't affected.  This also allows me to put more time into fixing this situation. It was very hard to work on as a retail manager putting in ridiculous hours.  Anyway, I welcome advice or assistance in any way.  We have been struggling financially since before we moved here and thought we were entering a better situation when we bought this house.  Boy, were we wrong!  I would just like to know that I'm not going to lose our house because of using our mortgage money to pay a lawyer, we have a hard enough time making the payments as it is.  Thank you for reading this!

My mother had a stroke in November of last year.  Since then, she has been back to work, but in a limited capacity and she's not able to work as many hours as she used to.  We have fallen behind on our property tax payments.  We have been told that if we can't pay off the tax in full before October, the county will take our house.  We've already taken out a loan to pay as much of the tax as we can, but we're still over $2000.00 dollars short.  Both my mother and I work and we're trying as hard as we can to keep up with all the bills, but we just can't.  I'd greatly appreciate any help that anyone could give.
